Stormwater quality treatment devices, also known as manufactured treatment devices (MTDs), are engineered systems designed to protect water resources. These innovative structures capture, filter, and treat stormwater runoff before it enters natural waterways, playing a vital role in reducing pollution and enhancing water quality. Each proprietary device has specific maintenance requirements which are provided in the manufacturer’s O&M manual. EverGreen staff has over 20 years of experience dealing with proprietary devices. Our regular services keep the devices working at the cheapest possible cost.

Dry ponds are typically dry basins with concrete inlet and outlet structures designed to mimic naturally vegetated areas. They detain excess stormwater during rain events, allowing sediment and pollutants to settle out as the water gradually drains. These ponds are particularly effective at flood control and preventing channel erosion by reducing peak flow during storms and providing a safe storage area for water.

Wet ponds are highly cost-effective and widely used for stormwater treatment. These constructed basins maintain a permanent pool of water and often feature landscaped plants around their edges. As stormwater enters the pond, its velocity decreases significantly, allowing suspended particles to settle out. The treated water from the previous storm exits the system as new stormwater enters. Additionally, nutrient uptake through biological activity in the pond enhances stormwater treatment.
